Amend the county code to protect Mercer county LGBTs from discrimination.
Pennsylvanians who are LGBT, or perceived to be LGBT, can be legally discriminated against. LGBT citizens in Mercer county can be fired from their jobs, evicted from their homes, and denied other public accommodations simply because of their sexual or gender identity. Currently 32% of Pennsylvania's population(4.1 million) live in 31 municipalities with inclusive non-discrimination laws. We believe that Mercer county needs to step forward and protect its LGBT citizens from wrongful discrimination! It's time to amend the county code so that LGBT citizens can live and work in Mercer county without fear.
