Mental Health Matters even at school.

Mental Health Matters even at school.
I think that mental health is a very important topic. I have had plenty of moments in school where my anxiety gets the best of me and I feel embarrassed, alone and like I’m being judged. My school has people come in and talk about mental health but I think just talking about it is doing almost nothing to the students at my school. There are some ways that I think that this could be taken care of such as a safe room and I know a lot of people might take advantage of this and Im still thinking of ways to make it to where there will not be students who would take advantage of it just to get out if class but its so far just one of my ideas. Haset Daniel, another formal student at my school has the same idea as me and this is what she said, “I sit in class and hear every word and write down all the notes but some how I never learn a single thing.I could stare at the white board the whole class and complete the assignment but Some how never remember what I need to know. I’ve noticed it’s not just me it’s multiple people and when I try to help by asking if they are ok or if they want to talk about it, its hard because were in class. I realized a lot of the students don’t have anybody to talk to they all just bottle up there feelings and it’s always stuck on there mind especially during school. I was hoping that a safe room would really help where the students could talk to other students instead of an adult. Lots of students are not comfortable talking to the counselor or parents about their life problems and it’s nice to have someone that can relate to you and your problems.”
