Why this petition matters

As we all should know, mental health is a very important part of us that effects all of us in many different ways. But there are many day to day things we do that can negatively affect out mental health and we are always forced to do it to reach societies expectations. In April 2018, it is shown that the suicide rate for young youths (age 10-17) have been raised by 70 percent over the years, mostly due to how stressful our education system is. Our schools need to see that the kids and even your children in those environments are in so much danger with themselves due to academic stress. I know how it feels, because I as myself am one of those kids. I have been to the mental hospital 2 times only a few months apart due to stress. I have always been wondering where this stress has been coming from but now I know exactly where its coming from. Now I am not one of those kids who always just hate school just because, I hate it BECAUSE of the way it treats kids with mental health problems. Once you get discharged from PHP, Inpatient, or anything else you never really get to get a break, unless your parents are kind enough to let you have a few days off from socializing or just facing society just to warm up a bit. I loves being in the out patient hospital (PHP) I loved learning how to take care of myself and all these coping skills and how to socialize as I am a shy person, but I never wanted to go back to school no matter what because I know its just going to be another cycle of me doing it all over again and maybe not going to outpatient, but probably inpatient which im even more scared for. All I want for schools to change is how they treat their mentally ill children. Give them a break for a week or two instead of forcing them to come back and do school work just stressing them out even more, schools make children worry to much, stress a whole lot, collect a lot of anxiety and can make them irritated and antsy. It is proven that suicide rates go up at least 44% each time during the year excluding break times. Education is killing people and its cruel. Parents and teachers complain about how the school system is but they still havent changed it have the? I'm tired of the board of education being so blind and not seeing what they are doing to our children of the united states of America. Its time we change this to protect all kids in our country from ever feeling internalized pain ever again.
