This petition is to get names added to the lynching memorial in Alabama beginning with Brianna Taylor. I believe we must begin to use language to define our moment in history and that action must be taken to document and honor what we are experiencing. 

Our monument must actually wrestle with the current acts of lynching and not just pretend it is something that happened so long ago. 

Breonna Taylor was murdered. We all witnessed the fallout of her death and many of us were traumatized. Recent facts have come to light about the level of collision and inhumanity that drove such action. The facts of this case make it clear that not only was  Breonna's death egregious, it also falls into the category of lynching.
