Petition to the Isle of Man Government to protect Manx patient dignity at air & sea ports

Eight weeks ago and at considerable expence the Charity Committee of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group visted the John Lennon Airport in Liverpool to discuss utilising a small space as a patient transfer area from 'red eye' arrivals to late departures.
This is a comment from the parent of one such patient...
"travelling myself with my 5 year old son who had no hair , tubes everywhere and going through sick bowls like no bodies business just waiting to be searched. He is in agonising pain and getting poked and prodded while being searched. He had an intravenous line and couldn't move from his wheelchair. It's embarrassing for him when people are either pointing and staring or just as much when he gets sympathetic looks..." (name withheld to protect the parties concerned)
Now despite the Airport agreeing in principle to the plans and the fact that the MBCSG was paying for everything. On the May 18 2017, the charity receives an email saying that the Airport is unable to proceed with providing the room as previously agreed and in fact inferes that the use of the publicly viewable access area or even food outlet spaces is more than acceptable to the members and yet;
"... improving the customer experience is at the heart of everything we are doing" is what is stated by John Lennon Airports' Customer Service Executive.
Surely this cannot be right? This isn't just about the physical but mental effect; so If you think that our Government needs to intercede and protect the dignity and wellbeing of our vulnerable then can we ask that you sign and share and show support for this great Charity and let's effect change.
Please remember to share!
