Hon. Duale should resign as the Leader of Majority in Parliament
Hon. Aden Duale has lost the confidence of the members of National Assembly. His track record has proven that he has divergent interests that have rendered him incapable of fulfilling his mandate as the Leader of Majority in Parliament. He has on several occasions gone against the Jubilee Party position on critical issues at the core of the Jubilee manifesto & the Party Leader's agenda for the country.
A case in point is the BBI - which is aimed at uniting the country. Hon. Duale is on record vehemently opposing the BBI. He explicitly said he would not attend the BBI rallies which were aimed at sensitising mwananchi about the Initiative. He even termed them as divisive.
This, among many other reasons, has given Jubilee MPs reason to believe that he is not able to serve as Majority Leader. His dye is already cast, and the longer he stays as Majority Leader, the greater the risk of causing instability inside one of the most crucial institutions in our democracy - The National Assembly. This is a risk we cannot afford. Honorable Duale should do the honorable thing and resign to peacefully pave way for the election of another leader whom the MPs have confidence in.
