Our communities, world wide, have been infected with an epidemic of human trafficking. With our children, which are our future, arguably being the most impacted. This atrocity has diseased the entire planet. Social media has largely contributed AND profited from this shameful, unlawful, unacceptable fact. It is long past time, the social media giants be incentivised to help cure this plague which spreads across our entire planet. Facebook and Twitter, amount other sites, are complicit, and as guilty of this crime as if they were themselves committing it. Both FB and Twitter will remove a political post, or a post that calls out high ranking politicians or celebrities, less than 30 minutes of it's posting. However, will reply that a group posting indecent images of children does not violate their community standards. These companies reap the financial benefits of this and show NO willingness to aid in stopping it. I would contend it is well past time they were incentivised to behave differently. Clearly, profit is the only language social media understands, perhaps hefty fines and victim's damages would get their attention. I would also contend, these companies should bare judicial consequences to their criminal actions in a criminal court as well. Their negligence and failure to stop this injustice had caused unspeakable pain and loss to countless many. It can NOT continue to go unchecked and absent repercussions! These companies must put forth a more reasonable effort to report and remove the abusers of our children, particularly when other users have continuously reported the violators. A group on Facebook, as I write this, has images of very young children, posting provocatively. I have, myself, reported this group as have at least 3 other users. There is, in fact, a Facebook page asking other users to report the group "las ninas" in an effort, to have the groups account taken down. However, the group does not violate the community standards, in the opinion of Facebook. Well they certainly violate my communities standards. I hope everyone who sees this petition feels the same and will sign. We MUST stop turning the blind eye and we MUST get involved! For the sake of our children, our future and humanity as a whole!
