Adrian Menzel started this petition to Members of Both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Australia.

We the people of Australia request that the Federal Parliament of Australia conduct a Royal Commission into the Water problems that we have in Australia.

Australia is currently experiencing bad drought conditions with a lack of water, however with what has occurred within the Murray Darling Basin has made it worse.

The debacle was highlighted when it was discovered that there was dead fish in the River Darling. When it was being sought as to why they were dying, numerous other issues were discovered and it all had a reference to the lack of water.

Some of the issues that were discovered was the theft of water, water being held in private dams for their own use, the corruption by people involved with the Governments buy back program which involved profiteering.

"Australian Constitution Section 100: The Commonwealth shall not by any law or Regulations of Trade or Commerce, abridge the right of a State or the residents to the reasonable use of waters of Rivers for Conservation or Irrigation".

The Constitution has been breached and as a result of that, there needs to be a Royal Commission to investigate the whole situation and take legal action against those that are found guilty.
