Create more bike lanes to decrease exhaust gas

Climate change was discovered in the early 19th century, and has been a problem since. Abnormal changes in the climate hold significant impacts on ecosystems, economies and communities. Carbon dioxide, otherwise known as a greenhouse gas, is a major contributor to this environmental issue. Additionally, carbon dioxide contributes to a few other issues such as global warming.
- This issue impacts us globally. The changes won't be as simple as rain instead of sun- some regions will experience drastic changes in temperature or extreme weather events.
- Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities.
- There needs to be an act to limit global warming to less than 2ºC by reducing greenhouse gas emission, otherwise, dangerous levels of global warming will be reached.
Exhaust gas produced by motor vehicles contain an array of harmful chemicals that will pollute and harm our planet, as well as our health. By creating bike lanes, perhaps more citizens will be willing to ride their bikes. The sooner we act to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, the less severe impacts will be. These environmental issues will not revert unless we make an attempt to change.
