To: Mayor Brian P. Stack Union City Zoning Board
We, the undersigned, oppose the proposed demolition of "The Nest", the stately, historic house located at 1900 Kennedy Blvd. in Union City, NJ."The Nest" was built in 1918 by Paul Ganzinotti.
It contains many exquisite details such as original plaster medallions, pocket door, stained glass, and a grand staircase of imported mahogany from Germany with bronze statuettes by the french artist Jean-Baptiste Germain. We appeal to the members of the Union City Zoning Board of Adjustment, who will be voting on this proposal on September 14th, as well as to our Mayor and State Senator, Brian P. Stack to not allow "The Nest" to be torn down.
It is an important piece of Union City history; No other houses that I'm aware of in the area are of this exact style - a building like this will never be built again!
