I frequently experience issues with irresponsible off leash dog owners at Fawkner Park while walking my assistance dog.

I propose the area highlighted in purple is designated as an assistance dog only area. This section does not hinder access to the park for general pet owners while providing a safe area for assistance dog owners without being harassed, attacked and worrying about their dog being distracted or picking up bad habits.

I write this petition after the simple act of politely asking somebody to call their dog resulted in a torrent of abuse and a general lack of understanding from pet owners that assistance dogs can't be distracted by other dogs, an attack can result in the handler being housebound and that a red lead means dogs should not be approached under any circumstances
