Changing Skyline High School’s Class of 2018 Graduation to a bigger venue.

Skyline High School Seniors Class of 2018, has about a thousand students. Our graduation is being moved to Alfred J. Loos Sports Complex that only fits about two-hundred students. It is not enough space for both students and families. No room for where handicap people are supposed to be. The band/choir won’t fit either, they will be behind the screen which will inconvenience senior participants. The parking at the Complex is horrible and our families and students cars will not fit and do not want to run the risk of getting it towed. The other parking is more than a mile away and is too far. Plus we won’t know weather conditions if it will rain, etc. It is also an outdated stadium and parents did not vote for this when we had a meeting where parents voted for where they wanted our graduation. The other option is to separate our graduation between the Magnet students and Comprehensive students. That is also dividing our bond as Skyline’s Future Graduates. Please help us with communicating to Downtown in changing our graduation venue. If any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me, Melanie Chaponan, Skyline High School’s Student Body President at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you.
