Pam Bocanegra started this petition to Medical boards, governors,Advent Hospital, Killeen, Texas

I believe not allowing a visitor to a patient in the hospital is not only inhumane but it can also hinder the healing process. There is no one there to speak up for a patient.  If Dr's, nurses, medical staff, housekeeping, and all other employees can go in and out of hospitals I believe family members can as well. One visitor a day would make all the difference in the world for someone in the hospital! How can we know if our loved ones are truly being treated right if we can't be there. Its just wrong on so many levels. Over worked nurses would also benefit. A visitor can give a patient a urinal, cover them when they are cold and too weak to do it, help them with the meal or with the water. A visitor can rub the patient's back, talk to them and calm them when they get anxious so they aren't calling for the nurse in a panic.
