Upgrade the L40071 road to Robinstown

Upgrade the L40071 road to Robinstown

Recently, much needed road improvements were made from Robinstown village to half way on the L40071 as far as Dunganny under Navan Town Council funds. These improvements have made a huge difference to both driving and walking.
I believe that the rest of the road (which was not upgraded) up to Kilcooley on the R161 is managed by Trim council. This road is in an awful state with potholes and subsidence. I recently contacted Meath County Council to enquire whether this stretch would also be included in upgrades, but unfortunately there are no immediate plans or budget to upgrade.
There was also campaign to try and get the 190 (Trim/Drogheda) bus re-routed to got through the village, as we are very cut off when it comes to public transport. The NTA responded to say that the L40071 was not suitable for buses. So, as you can imagine, hearing that the remainder of this road is not planned to be upgraded is very disappointing for the village as we will not have any chance to try and persuade the NTA to consider a re-routing of this bus route.
I'm urging everyone in the village and local area to sign this peition to put pressure on Trim Town Council to finally fix and widen this section of road, which is in a disgraceful state.
Best Regards
Greg
