Require the dog warden to check on state of animal

Require the dog warden to check on state of animal

The Issue

Currently in Ireland there is a dog warden. He is in charge of ensuring people have their dog licensed. After several interviews with people from shelters and dog owners, it has come to our attention the lack of detail that this warden pays. The condition of the animal is not in question, nor is the capacity of the owner to have the dog. When the warden comes around, the only thing that matters is the money. Ireland has a history of poor legislation that allows for neglect and cruelty. It is time to put an end to it all.
What are we asking?
The license should be raised, not drastically, but enough to cover the cost of another warden. From here, these wardens are required to make a report on what they see, good and bad. It is quite difficult for a single warden to go around to everyone and check on the animal's well being. Also, if it was stated the purpose of the license, an average dog owner would not be hesitant on paying the few extra quid. Yes, we are all facing difficult times but it is not right for an animal to suffer, regardless of the situation. So I am asking you all, please sign this petition and help us to put an end to cruelty. This honestly is the easiest and most effective way of solving a problem right under our noses. If you can, please add a comment as to what this means for you.
Thank you
