In my four years at Meade County High School I've completed a lot of honorable achievements and have become a strong leader and voice for people who can never be heard. From my positive connections with my amazing staff and faculty, I can infer that many people would agree with me that the parking lot situation is poorly handled. As a student driver you know that you must now pay the school for a pass to park in each of the parking lots. I understand entirely where the school comes from- being they need the money to fund senior activities. This does not mean they can charge us money for a non-guaranteed spot in a large parking lot. Most of us are minors, we don't participate in gambling. From personal experience parking in the new MC4 parking lot and SA parking lot, I can tell you it's very difficult to find a spot very frequently. After hearing and speaking to a very, very large portion of adults, students, and staff, I have come up with a great solution. Either give us free parking again, or give us a reserved personal parking spot. One we can personalize(chalk/paint). Many people claimed they would even pay a little more for that. Most schools in the U.S.A already do this. We need to get in with the times.  Please consider this as a suggestion and not an angry petition. Here at Meade we strive for growth. Allow our student body to communicate with you via this petition.
