The selling of animals in pets shops needs to stop. There are hundreds of thousands of previously neglected pets in rescue centres across the country and being able to buy them in a shop doesn’t help. An irresponsible person can walk in the shop, pay a small amount of money for an animal and leave with it. No questions asked. These animals are often neglected and left to suffer or end up in rescue centres. A rescue centre can offer help and advice which a pet shop usually doesn’t. The poor animals are usually treated poorly without the adequate housing and correct diet to maintain good health. They don’t get the love and care they need and deserve.
