Push for Highway 7 South solution between 7/9 split and Hwy 6 Oxford, MS

With the plan to widen Highway 7 South in Lafayette county unknown/delayed, those who frequently travel the approximate 6.5 mile stretch between the 7/9 split and Oxford are growing increasingly concerned with their safety on a daily basis. While the official crash stats are yet to be determined, it's very obvious to those travelers that incidents are high on a weekly and even daily basis. While it's understood funding is an issue for a 4-lane project, are there not other solutions possible such as some type of turning lanes at the high traffic intersections? Pulling out onto highway 7 is frightening and driving is a daily concern as drivers spend as much time looking in their rear view mirror as they do looking forward. With the increase in traffic, distracted drivers and the frequent stops/turns along that section of highway, a solution must be found and quickly.
