Maryland is one of the richest states in the nation. We should have a rail system that shows that. There is always so much traffic going to and from Baltimore and Washington. People sometimes miss work because of it. This problem could be solved if the general assembly enacted some laws that builds new stations, and modernizes the rail system. We have some rolling stock (train systems) that are over 40 years old. Wouldn’t it be amazing to get from Baltimore to Washington in 20 minutes? We are moving into a modern era and we must move with the times or we will stay stuck behind. I also believe that if we do this, other states will follow and slowly we can grow our high speed rail network. I know some people that would abandon the idea completely of taking the car to work, and rather take the train. This would make MD more environmentally friendly, create thousands of jobs and just (in general) help more people.
