On behalf of the student class of 2025, We are outraged by the lack of consideration MCPHS University has taken for the Fall 2021 white coat ceremony. As of October 4, 2021 MCPHS has emailed that the student’s ceremony will be held on zoom. Many were impacted by the pandemic and had been looking forward to some light and enjoyment as simple as receiving a white coat ceremony in person with their fellow classmates. There are different ways MCPHS could have handled our ceremony with all the time they had with withholding information till the last moment.

For the sake of compromising with students who are unable to make it on campus, the ceremony should be able to be on zoom and in person.

There are protocols for students to step onto campus. Why can’t the University continue protocols for the PharmD white coat ceremony?  If students are on campus for classes then there must be a way for students to attend their ceremony in person.

MCPHS Worcester campus and majors such as nursing and dental had recently received their white coats in person. Other colleges who are not even known for pharmacy have held their ceremonies in person, such as Northeastern.

We students pay thousands of dollars and work hard to get to the where we are today. This ceremony allows students to feel accomplished and encourages students to push forward in our studies.

There are many students dropping from the university for the lack of consideration MCPHS University has for their students. We are asking the university to put in the same amount of thought and effort into their decision making as is expected of all of us students. We are expected to put our “all” into our studies and all related MCPHS requirements. Now, we are requesting and expecting the same from the university

Any questions or concerns may be forwarded to the class of 2025.
