• Face masks should not be mandatory.This should be our choice.

The masks themselves do very little to prevent an airborne virus infection, especially since they are not fitted to each face or made of protective materials.  Even the CDC recommends that healthy people should only need to wear masks if they are taking care of a person with COVID-19.The wearing of masks is therefore more of a political symbol for the media to continue to frighten and dehumanize the public.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many unconstitutional orders that have been enacted, but the face mask orders in several states is very personal since it involves infringing on your personal body space.  It is important that elected officials uphold their oaths to ensure that our individual freedoms will remain protected at all times, even during a crisis.

This is a petition against mandatory face masks. Recently the town of Mt. Pleasant has decided to not reinstate the mandatory face masks. Meanwhile, there is a petition to reinstate it. We would like to keep face masks a choice and not mandatory. Please sign this if you would like Mayor William Haynie to know that we think masks should be a choice.
