We are Savannah's running community, we are Savannians, and we love having the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon in Savannah.

The running scene in Savannah was energized and saw exponential growth when the inaugural Rock 'n' Roll Savannah was first announced. Training groups and running clubs have continued to blossom and thrive in the 10 years it's been here. The sport of running, and the training goal of this marathon and half-marathon race, bring us together with our neighbors from all walks of life to form lifelong friendships, and community-building bonds. It brings us over the streets and trails to every corner of our city. (For those pre-dawn training groups, we've seen valuable partnerships created with our local coffee shops - seriously!)

The Rock 'n' Roll is a world class racing event for our charming little city. It's a pinnacle accomplishment for Savannah runners to complete the race, and to invite our friends and family to town to run it with us and cheer us on. Based on the registrations for the 2021 race, over 2,000 Savannah area runners will participate!

The Rock 'n' Roll generates extensive fundraising for local and national non-profit agencies, including Liam's Land, St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, and Team Leukemia.

The Rock 'n' Roll and Savannah's training groups and running clubs promote a healthy, accessible, pandemic-resistant sporting activity, improving the lives of citizens of all ages. Many Savannians sit in hours of traffic for week after week on Saturdays for a college football game. We are your team, for just this one Saturday a year.

We are aware of the complications the staging of this event presents to some businesses along the route, and we are committed to supporting our local businesses and helping find solutions. They employ runners, provide products and services to runners, in some cases are owned by runners... we know we can help turn these challenges into community-building opportunities.
