Greg Yokanovich started this petition to Mayor Mayor Trevis K. O'Connell

The north central Iowa city of Floyd (population 318) has an incredible opportunity to focus worldwide attention on their city...bringing economic, social, and even potentially some population growth to the city like never before.

Paint the water tower pink.

Prominently displayed along a major highway, a pink Floyd tower will set the mood for thousands of yearly travelers who will think warmly about the town and inspire worldwide attention. As a massive Floyd fan, I've driven by the small city many times and I find myself wishing, hoping, they would consider the possibilities.

Currently a simple blue with black lettering and a horizontal white stripe, if the tower were completely painted pink, Floyd Iowa will put themselves on the map for years to come. By signing this petition, we hope to encourage the current mayor and administration to do so.

Sure, there are other cities in the United States named Floyd (16 total), but this one has a location and personality that fit the bill best. The tower sits a mere 100 yards or so from a major Iowa highway and is clearly visible for miles.

I understand the reservations the town of Floyd would have given the estimated cost of painting such a structure, but with enough support from around the world, I'm confident this can be overcome in some way. There's also the wild idea that perhaps foreign investment of some kind might lend to the effort.

Please sign and urge the only identified official I could find, Mayor Trevis K. O'Connell to start the process immediately!
