Alicia Jackson started this petition to Mayor Sylvestor Turner and

Baker Ripley has serviced the City of Houston at large community for over thirty years. Recently the decision was made to discontinue adult day care services for people suffering with dementia because there is no longer an interest in senior care. This is a tragedy to families who are caregivers for their parents and loved ones who struggle with the challenges that dementia bring. Having a day center where the staff is efficiently trained to deal with the on going progression of this disease is paramount. Without these services we are lost, confused and feel displaced without the support of people who understand what our parents and loved ones need to survive daily.

To my understanding there are no other plans to re-open or establish a new adult day center for  people who have served their communities when they were well and abled minded. Everyone from government workers, doctors, lawyers, veteran's, educators and computer technologist, world renowned artist and healers attend this center.

The center provides safety, mental and emotional support as well as a plethora of activities to sustain wellness.

We are aware that the aging process is inevitable. By signing this petition you will help clear the path that we must all cross in the future. A support of eldership and aging.
