We, the proud South Asian residents of the great city of Houston, and those who seek fairness for our community, have created this petition to request the reinstatement of Officer Danish Hussain as our liaison.

We are writing this letter in support of Officer Danish Hussain — the formerly assigned South Asian liaison, who has had an exceptional record of public service involving innumerable significant civic issues in the Indian-Pakistani-Bangladeshi community. While serving as our liaison, he has gained the trust and the confidence of our community through compassionate community policing and a zero tolerance for crime. Officer Hussain has sworn to protect those that cannot protect themselves, and he has unquestionably been a true visionary for innovative change both in and out of our community.

At a time where politics and the media divide our great nation, Officer Hussain has unbiasedly offered his time and resources to all who need help, regardless of their race, creed or color. We felt safe having one of our own as our representative in the Houston Police Department, and are saddened by the removal of his position as our liaison.

We, as members of the community, civil servants, parents, voters of Harris & Fort Bend Counties and concerned citizens, are signing this letter in support of Danish Hussain's reinstatement as the liaison of the South Asian community.
