Open McCowan Skating Park in Scarborough Ontario!

The city of Scarborough has been patiently awaiting a new "Skate Park" located in McCowan Park. The skating rink was to be opened 2016-2017 winter season. I contacted 311 last September and inquired why the construction stopped and why we were not getting our skate park. 311 advised me that there were problems with the undergroud pipes and the park would be opened 2017-2018.
I drive by the park every week this year and no one was there. The site is an "eye soar" and no one worked on the park all year! I called our local MP's, reached out to the Mayor's office on facebook and no one replied. Today I called 311 and was advised that the park will now open in 2018-2019 winter season as the pipes are not correct, and the design of the skate park failed. No one has attempted to fix this park or address the concerns of "tax payers." Who was responsible for the design? Who approved it? Why does the City of Toronto think its okay to leave the skating rink deserted and not correct the problem this year? Nothing but false hope and lost dreams for our community.
l as a father always look for things to do for "family night", an inexpensive night out with a hot chocolate in a family environment. Kids playing hockey, families skating. It is a win-win situation for all parties involved. If we really care about the children and youth of our community, then we would be looking after them creating opportunities for them and to keep them out of trouble. The city had no problem opening the LCBO down the street in a timely manner because that was all about profit and not the community. Please help me get this park opened for our community, our kids, our families, as was promised to us in 2016-2017, not 2018 -2019. In 1 year the city has let this a dump, with disappointed, heartbroken children and families. Please help Scarborough have a voice again, for our families, children, the underprivileged and our community.
100 signatures and it will go to the Mayor to make Scarborough a priority again :) thank you very much for taking the time to sign, from my family to yours it will benefit us greatly.
