One of the most beautiful and unique places in Toronto is under threat. The Don Valley, and the immense trail system within it, has been a dumping ground for trash for many years but now has reached a crisis point. Open dumping of household waste from apartment buildings edging Thorncliff Park Drive facing the ravines is causing a massive wasteland and polluting the Don river downstream.
The Don Valley needs to be restored to what it was meant to be: a wildlife refuge and recreational space for hikers, bikers, runners, paddlers and other nature enthusiasts. A restorative action plan and funding are needed from the great city of Toronto in collaboration with Thorncliff Park residential properties to restore and maintain this vital green space, and prevent further abuse of the valley.
Thank you for supporting our initiative!
