Make Hartsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport SMOKE-FREE! No Cigar Bars! No City-Condoned Smoking!

This petition had 96 supporters

Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is one of the last airports in the country where you can still smoke. It's true! But that's not the craziest part...

You see, not only is @ATL refusing to go smoke-free, but it is actively planning to convert its existing smoking lounges - those toxic, jaundiced, and just generally depressing killing jars - into "cool" airport smoking destinations.

This is no joke! Influential investors are pushing for it right now, and city leadership is listening. In the absence of public outcry, they'll move forward with the plan as soon as this April.

What message does it send that Atlanta, home to the Centers for Disease Control and the American Cancer Society, is still treating smoking as a pleasure worth indulging instead of a devastating addiction that kills people?

Also, these cancer kiosks leak a lot of smoke into the terminals, more than enough to cause a heart or asthma attack in a sensitive passerby. So no, this isn't just about sending a message; these things can literally kill!

If you're on board, then sign, share and let's clear the air @ATL.

When you sign, the Mayor and every member of the City Council will receive an email. If you live in the city or use the airport with frequency, say so. Above all, please forward this petition to everyone you know, and even people you don't!
