Why this petition matters

Started by Stephen Grech

Discussions with dog owners who utilise the off-leash area of Paradise Point beach has identified a high level of interest in the desire to have some facilities provided to facilitate and enjoyable visit to the beach for dogs and their owners.

Common feedback has been that it would be appreciated if there was a water drink station, and a wash down area, similar to that which is provided at the dog beach at the Spit, as a minimum, and ideally, a modest shark proof swimming area.

The off leash area is quite popular, however there is currently no safe area for dogs , and their owners, to have an extended swim. The ever present risk of shark interaction deters owners from taking the risk of themselves, or their dogs, entering the water.

The swimming enclosure, would not need to be very large, just something of a modest size for a few dogs and their owners.

The provision of a small wash down area, to give dogs a hose down of sand and salt water would be most advantageous

This petition is to gauge the level of public interest in a more formal way by commencing a petition, both physical and online in this regard.

As a courtesy, Councillor Cameron Caldwell has been advised of the intent of this petition.

Your support in signing this petition would be appreciated

Kind Regards Donna Grech
