Free Parking in Vancouver for all Healthcare workers during COVID-19

Hello, I am a nurse and along with many other First Responders and healthcare workers , we are considered essential services during this trying time for our city (and province). Collectively, essential service employees expose themselves to potential risk and exposure daily in our workplace. We are unable to self isolate due to the nature of our employment and demand at this time. I commute into Vancouver daily. My usual mode of transportation is by train and bus. However, in order to reduce exposure to covid-19 and risk to myself (and my patients), I have been driving my car into work and paying for parking. With an increase in staff shortages, sometimes our shifts get extended and we end up working 16 hours. The last thing we are thinking when we take those extra hours is extending the parking metre. I would like to see the city of Vancouver suspend parking metre fees during these extreme circumstances to reduce cost to those working in the essential service category, who are contributing to keeping Vancouver citizens healthy and safe.
It seems with all the recent lockdown measures (which we are grateful for), essential services would be the only people parking downtown. I have noticed that cities around Vancouver are taking measures to mitigate price-gouging. It seems that profiting from citizens who are essential during these extreme circumstances fall into a similar category. We are asking that the metre fees be waived for essential service workers, until covid 19 virus is under control and we are once again able to open up the city to it's citizens.
Thank you - NL
