More Handicapped Blue Spaces for Water Street, St. John's, Nf&Ld.

As of right now there are only Six (6) Handicapped "Blue Spaces" on Water Street in downtown St. John's, Nf&Ld. Now 30 years ago that was considered fine but no longer with the increased amount of people that need to avail of these spaces. I am proposing that an additional 10 'Blue Spaces' be put into place along Water Street. It is very difficult to be driving around for up to an hour to find a space and it ends up usually being down by the old Post Office almost at the end of the street. I had contacted the City today and spoke with three separate individuals that could not give me an answer to my question. With the person in charge of them all saying "He's never heard a complaint about the lack of parking until today". Well sir, I know many that refuse to even shop downtown due to the lack of accessible parking. It is a problem that needs to be addressed. The manager at City Hall asked what could be done, More Spots is what I had stated. He seemed unable to comprehend that. So here we are... Please help and share this petition and let's make our city's core more accessible to all.
