The city of Reedley has created a Veteran Banner Program recently to recognize Veterans of the city such as myself. The guidelines state that the Veteran has to physically live there with proof of residency or have an immediate relative live in the city.

My family has maintained a home on the East Side on E. Evening Glow since the early 30s. I've been denied the honor of being recognized. I have an estranged sibling and he lives in that same home but due to a grievance, he is not an option. The guidelines do NOT read anywhere that an immediate family member has to BE the one who applies.  I grew up in Reedley.  I went thru the school system in Reedley.  I married a local girl and my oldest was born in the Reedley hospital.  My Grandkids were born there. 

Yet, I'm not hometown enough. Let me have my recognition !!. I am asking for not only your support in being recognized but to also have these guidelines rewritten to allow a wider range of eligibility. 

Just because I don't live there anymore doesn't take away from being a Reedley Veteran and deserving of recognition....or does it ?
