The amount of animal abuse and animal murderers throughout Merseyside is only growing, Our pets, our FAMILY are being taken away from us by twisted people, This has increased dramatically within the past 5 years and put the lives of beloved pets in serious danger and even resulted in death! For example, lately in the UK large amounts of cats and dogs have been going missing, Some have been stolen, and others have been picked up off the street to then be later be posted up on social media as deceased and unfortunately horrifically mutilated! Now as an animal lover, I hate seeing these posts and reports and I believe it is time to make a change. The only way that we can keep pets safe when in public is by keeping them on a lead. Although many people may already keep their dogs on leads, we do not see many cats on leads, even though local pet stores sell a harness and lead for around £5 for cats. Still people people choose to let their animals roam without a human protecting them and then later... I believe that if you want your cat to go outdoors and still stay safe then you Should build a cat pen for them to play in, it should not be allowed for a cat to roam free, just like it isn’t allowed for a dog to be without an owner on the street. There should also be a system where if a cat is roaming, there is a company in place that will pick the cat up and take it to a safe kennel, all cats should wear a collar/name tag and have a microchip up to date with the latest details if he/she may go missing and they should be taken out into public only on a harness and lead, if your cat won’t wear one then only allow it in the play pen. It is time to really enforce this because my heart breaks every time I read that someone’s baby has had its life taken away from them, this way we could save the life of all our fur babies and hundreds of family’s won’t suffer this devastating tragedy. This is the only way I can see the number of deaths in pets going down, specifically cats, thank you for taking the time to read.
