Jessica Tobin started this petition to Mayor of Duluth, Emily Larson

Dear Mayor Emily Larson,

Face masks such as N95 (because they don't filter exhaled air), surgical masks, and homemade masks do not prevent the spread of Covid 19. Virus particles are minuscule and can still get out and in.

Face masks are unnecessary, ineffective, and potentially harmful to the wearer

The good news is hospitalizations for Covid 19 in MN have reduced by 50% from June 1st, which was when our state started opening up again.

In the last 4 months in St. Louis County, 158 people have tested positive out of a population of about 200,000. That's 0.079%. 14 people have died in this county, all of which were residents of nursing homes. That's 0.007%.

If face masks worked, why did we shut down small businesses, hurting them, their employees, and families?

Please do not let fear overtake the citizens of Duluth.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.
