All children should have access to a high quality education regardless of the ability of their caregivers, family, friends, and community to buy them a laptop.

I am signing this petition because I am concerned about the children whose families have limited resources. You cannot operate a school system where almost 1/3 of the students have no access to school. That's why Brown v. Board of Ed. won in the Supreme Court.

I strongly support this petition. Children from low income families need access to the technology that will allow them to learn and thrive.

Many students struggled IN schools, and the lack of tech access widens the range of struggling students. This issue of equity (to information, to healthcare, to education) will make this a crucial moment in the lives of many DC youth, and any/all intervention(s) are crucial at this time.

I’m signing because some of my preschoolers don’t have the devices and internet access they need to be able to see the lessons I’m recording for them.

Access to technology is fundamental if we are fully committed to ensuring a level playing field for all students in DC, and particularly during times of pandemic?

We must evolve and take everyone with us. No one should be left behind in the digital divide.
