God In The Home started this petition to Mayor Michael Brennan

The City of University Heights Ohio, under the leadership and direction of its Mayor, Michael Brennan, has got to stop with its religious discrimination against its Orthodox Jewish populace at once.

The city has an ever-growing number of religious Jewish constituents and it's not allowing people to pray in their homes. This is a clear violation of the 14th amendment (equal protection clause) and the RLUIPA laws of 2000.

Despite the official position of the city, in their ignorance, the Law of the land is that people do not need permission to pray in their homes, and this local government/administration is sending cease and desist orders and filing injunctions in local courts, towards people who wish to pray in the privacy of their homes, whether alone or with others and to enforce unconstitutional zoning laws which aim to prohibit religious observance altogether.

Furthermore, the city has in it only two bonafide and approved Orthodox Synagogues, according to it, and between both of them allows for Public Assembly for no more than 300 people. The problem is there are 1000's of Jewish people in this town and the need for places to pray is overwhelming.

This city however has outdated zoning codes, lack of knowledge, and mismanagement by its administration, which does not allow anyone a path forward to make a place of worship, this city has taken taxpayer money to prohibit religious Jews from prayer services, to turn against the largest group that has elected its Mayor in. Enough is Enough.

The time has come to stand up and push back on this abuse of the zoning laws to prevent people from congregating in a manner provided for by the Constitution of the United States. We need to send Mayor Brennan a clear message that his attempts to prevent the Jewish people from praying with disturbances from the city, will not only cause him to lose his seat as Mayor, but will also cause a great deal of hostility within our great city.

Signing this petition will send the message loud and clear, every voice counts, no matter where you are from, let this Mayor and all the local governments around the country know, that We the People will decide to Whom and where we serve our Creator, and that it is not their duty as 'elected officials' to stand in our way.
