Build bike lanes on Atlantic Street in Stamford

Stamford needs a safe bike and pedestrian connection between the South End, the train station, and Downtown. Protected bike lanes in both directions would allow people to move safely between these areas without the need for a car. Atlantic Street is the perfect candidate for north-south bike lanes because the State is currently constructing a flyover to divert traffic exiting I-95 from Atlantic Street to Canal Street. The State is also replacing the Atlantic Street railroad bridge, which will finally allow for space to construct bike lanes on the roadway below. Many people want to ride a bike on the street in Stamford, but don't feel safe doing so. Bike lanes on Atlantic Street would finally allow for a safe, people-friendly connection between the areas north and south of the train tracks and highway. Thank you for your support!
