Lower the costs of sanitary products for women living with 'Period Poverty'
1 out of 5 Australian women are currently living with 'period poverty' which is the lack of access to sanitary products, education about menstrual health, toilets and hand-washing facilities for women living is disadvantaged situations. Girls from as young as ten up to women in their late fifties are now having to result in using socks, toilet paper and other unsuitable products on their period resulting in poor mental health, embarrassment and many other struggles. it can also prevent girls from attending school due to the lack or resources that are needed.
This is a serious matter and we need to be able to discuss it openly as it cannot be avoided any longer. If we can change the prices of sanitary products and make them more available for everyone as-well as providing the facilities needed than we would be making a brighter and more inclusive society for everyone.
