Mya Cuevas started this petition to Mayor Lori Lightfoot and General Iron Industries

General Iron is a car shredding factory. They shred every single metal that they have so they can reuse them. General iron wants to move from Lincoln Park to the Southeast side. They were at Lincoln Park before but they are planning to move to the Southeast side. General Iron closed in May because something exploded from the factory at Lincoln Park, but they can resume on Saturday after city officials gave the business clearance to fully reopen.

People should sign this so we can stop General Iron from moving to the Southeast Side. If General Iron moves to the East Side it will cause a lot of pollution and it can explode if the factory does something wrong. It will also impact George Washington because General Iron is going to be so close to the school that pollution can cause kids or adults to have breathing issues, such as Asthma. People will sign this petition because they're going to help General iron to know thor place and not letting a factory move in a neighborhood because it can cause health problems. I’m asking General Iron need to stop moving to the Eastside because they're risking a lot of people's health or even if they're not going to move here then they shouldn't move to any neighborhood because they will risk everyone's health.
