Whereas police departments across the country are being vilified as murderers and whereas  many city and county governments are proposing the "defunding" of their law enforcement agencies and whereas the men and women who work as police officers risk their lives daily in service to their fellow citizens, we petition the Mayor of Jacksonville to display his, and the city's, support by painting "We Back the Blue" on East Bay Street in our city.
