Don't cut our Redland's mobile library

Many people in our community rely on the mobile library service - particularly those in their later years with limited mobility. Growing up, I borrowed books from the Redland City Council's mobile library service when it visited Mooroondu Rd. My mother still uses this service every time it visits Wellington Point.

They made this decision in a secret meeting - they must have realised that the community would be concerned about cutting this service. Governments at all levels seem more interested in cuts than anything else, even if it means much loved services like the mobile library have to go.

This service is vital for the elderly, people who have disabilities and those who have limited mobility or cannot afford expensive public transport costs.

Mayor Williams - don't cut our mobile library service.
