The Florida Fraternal Order of Police is calling on a third party investigation into Davie Police Chief Dale Engle's actions on April 7th when he was spoke at a patrol meeting and made anti-LGBT comments around BSO Deputy Shannon Bennett who recently died due to COVID-19 complications.

The Florida Fraternal Order of Police says that Engle told members that Bennett had died because he was a "homosexual who attended homosexual events." Engle presumed it was because of Bennett's "homosexual" lifestyle that the Deputy contracted an underlying disease, which aggravated the virus.

The town of Davie put Police Chief Engle on administrative leave on the evening of 4/11/20 following receiving the concerns from the Florida Fraternal Order of Police.

Please sign this petition to request an independent third party investigation into the actions of Davie Police Chief Engle and his removal from the job if his comments regarding BSO Deputy Bennett are substantiated.
