Youth experiencing homelessness in Scarborough currently have nowhere safe to go. They need transitional housing and support services in Scarborough. They should not have to go to other parts of Toronto to receive the services they need.
YouthLink has been serving Toronto youth for over 103 years, and has been offering counselling and clinical services at its Warden Avenue home for more than 13 years. Last year, through these and its other programs, it helped 7,000 youth and their families.
YouthLink has submitted a proposal to the City of Toronto to operate a 53 bed transitional home and support services at its Warden Avenue location for youth in Scarborough. This proposal is supported by city staff.
We are calling on all city councillors, including Scarborough councillors and members of council's Community Development Committee, to support YouthLink's proposal for transitional housing and support services. The model of housing services was approved by Toronto city council in April 2017.
Please vote 'yes' to support youth and YouthLink in Scarborough!
