For the past 15 years, BASS (Bloomingdale Regional Animal Shelter Society) has been serving the communities of Bloomingdale, Butler, Pompton Lakes, Wanaque, Riverdale, and Ringwood, and more recently North Caldwell. For the past 6 years, they have been working without a contract with the Borough of Bloomingdale, which owns the property on which the BASS shelter is located. The Borough has failed to negotiate a new contract with BASS, and because of this BASS has stopped accepting animals. On September 30, 2011, BASS will be cease its operations.

BASS is an important service to these communities, and the Borough of Bloomingdale has failed these communities by giving up on contract negotiations with BASS. Sign this petition to tell the Borough of Bloomingdale we want them to re-open contract negotiations with BASS so that we don't lose BASS's valuable community services.
