Against A No Entry System at Tarling St & Sutton St Junction, Shadwell

We call on Mayor John Biggs not to implement a no entry system at Tarling Street which means that vehicles will be unable to turn into Tarling Street into Sutton Street.  Alternative options need to be investigated so that genuine and meaningful consultation with local residents, businesses and stakeholders in Shadwell takes place.

This so-called consultation has done very little to make Shadwell residents aware of the context of this consultation -  John Biggs did something similar when sending letters out for the increase of council tax and parking time changes just before a holiday period.

The proposals set out in this plan will have major issues to people who live in and around Shadwell.

This is what a few of the things that the proposal wants to achieve:

Martha St & Watney St junction (A) - To implement a NO ENTRY system on Martha Street - vehicles will be unable to turn into Martha Street from Watney Street.

Dellow Street, Lowood Street and Bewley Street (C) - Implementing a one-way system on the Dellow Street – Lowood Street – Bewley Street loop

Tarling Street and Sutton Street junction (D) - Propose to implement a no entry system on Tarling Street, - which means vehicles will be unable to turn into Tarling Street from Sutton Street.

We demand that alternative solutions must be developed with focussed consultation with residents, businesses, schools and community groups, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers to ensure that quality feedback is provided to these proposals.
