This is a beautiful historic building and it's a crying shame that this beautiful structure will be demolished! America has such a young history and to demolish one part of that history is a shame!

Did anyone check if there are church leaders and other people that died in late 1800's during construction who are buried under that site?

One of the most charming and historically symbolic buildings left in Worcester. The downtown would benefit tremendously from a re-imagined Notre Dame des Canadiens, adding to the cultural and branding value of the city as a whole. The area already abounds in modern style structures, none of which are particularly captivating. The unique charm of the city derives from such structures as best exemplified by the Notre Dame church.

This historical Church with magnificiant architecture should be preserved and a reuse found to keep it from being demolished for more apartments, and become a major part of the redevelopment around it in it's original form. Save it! Save History!

I grew up in Worcester. When I moved away and then returned I realized how much beautiful architecture existed in the City especially the churches. The city could make loads of money running church tours. My parents were married in Notre Dame church. I attended many Novenas at this beautiful church. I watched a mall be built and saw the church still stand when the mall perished. Why would anyone want to destroy this? The Catholic church owes it to the parishioners to maintain the stability of the churches as they have paid the church to do so while putting money in the basket each time they attend...plus other generous donations. That money collected was to maintain the church.
