Commit Englewood to the Paris Agreement Standards
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
The President recently withdrew the US from the Paris Climate Agreement, the unprecedented worldwide agreement where 195 of 197 countries in the world committed to lowering their greenhouse gas emissions 26-28% below 2005 levels by the year 2025.
Despite the federal government's lack of leadership to combat climate change, 13 US states and 298+ Mayors/Councils nationwide have already committed to meeting the standards of the Paris Agreement on their own. Denver, Lakewood, Longmont, Aspen and Boulder have all committed to meeting the standards of the Paris Agreement.
Mayor Joe Jefferson and the Englewood City Council should join these 298+ Mayors and commit to lowering Englewood's carbon emissions by 30% below 2005 levels by 2025. We must study and monitor Englewood's emissions and commit to emissions reductions that are in line with Englewood's existing Energy Action Plan. Let's make Englewood a leader in energy efficiency, clean energy and the jobs that come with it.
We will be holding local gatherings to support this effort so please sign and get involved! Please also contact your council members!
