The city of Indianapolis has always been a leader in community spirit and engagement. It is in that spirit, this petition is being made to let our city and state leaders know we want to get Indy out to Vote!!! 

There are thousands of people in the city of Indianapolis that lack the resources to get out and vote on election day.  Many other cities across the country have opened up public transit, at no cost.  

Terre Haute IN opened up public transportation on  primary election just this year to boost voter turn out.

In 2016 the following cities opened up public transportation at no cost to riders: 

  • Las Cruces, New Mexico’s RoadRUNNER
  • Omaha, Nebraska’s Metro
  • Palm Beach County, Florida’s Palm Tran
  • St. Cloud, Minnesota’s Metro Bus
  • Asheville, North Carolina’s ART busses
  • Bangor, Maine’s Community Connector bus service
  • Portland, Maine’s METRO
  • Stockton, California’s San Joaquin Regional Transit District
  • Austin, Texas’s Capital Metro
  • Columbia, Missouri’s COMO Connect
  • Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
  • Lawrence, Kansas’ Lawrence Transit
  • Minneapolis and St. Paul’s Metro Transit will offer free rides on buses, light rail lines and the Northstar Commuter Rail line
  • Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority
