I'm signing this because Disability Justice matters and representation matters. To have a street named for someone with such a despicable past and one so harmful to our communities here in Minnesota, our country, our world isn't a fact to ignore or dismiss. This name needs to be removed and the street renamed for a person or principle that stands against the bigotry of eugenics, that stands for the brilliance of CripWisdom, of the Disability Justice Movement, of disabled folx-- one chosen BY the disabled folx.

I live on Dight Avenue and I absolutely do not want the street I live on to be named after a person who promoted eugenics and praised Adolf Hitler.

Gee no wonder Minneapolis has so much trouble. Their discriminatory practices go all the way back to the Nazis.

I can't speak for Minneapolis specifically, but I think the country as a whole has come a long way regarding inclusion of people with disabilities. But I also still believe the name should be changed. Beliefs like he had should not have been "memorialized" in the first place.
