Volcano Community Insists on 24 hour Ambulance Presence

Due to the recent volcanic activity and seismic damage to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and subsequent closure, the regular 24 hour presence of a fully equipped ambulance stationed at Kilauea Military Camp is no longer viable. Currently, the ambulance is stationed at Cooper Center in Volcano Village from 9AM to 6PM. In the remaining hours it is relocated to Keaau, 17 miles away from Volcano Village. Volcano, Hawaii has a significant aging population which has a need for 24 hour, easily accessible and time sensitive emergency services that the ambulance and personnel provide. We would like this service to be restored to our community and we would like the ambulance stationed in Volcano continually.
